My 2020 790 R recently crossed 2000 kms, and its now overheating badly on anything mildly technical . It was 14° (C) today, and the bike stopped multiple times (on hill climbs) due to overheating. For context, I've ridden the same trails (for years) on my 990 in much higher temps (+30 C°) and never had an issue. View attachment 2237503

The KTM 790 Adventure is the perfect bike for those who want a high-performance, yet lightweight and compact, cycle that's meant for adventure touring and is also perfectly-suited for off-road navigation. It's billed as "the most off-road capable travel bike." The 790 Adventure R is a similar model with a distinct difference. Traded in my Honda 250 Rally for a ‘20 790 Adventure R. The Honda was fine. Dependable. Meh. The KTM is just a different beast altogether. So much more fun to ride and absolutely no issues beyond having to tighten a clamp and open up a fuel line. Newer KTMs work great and they have a ton of personality. That 1290 is beautiful. Oddometer: 3,202. Location: Spain. No real issues for me on the 890 in 35c Spanish sun. Though perhaps at those temps the engine heat can't really be felt anymore than the regular hot ass weather. The bike does run warm, fans come on regularly, but I don't have an issue with legs getting cooked.
790 Adventure R starts but then cuts out. Bike has never had any issues and has always been a good starter (hot or cold) but today it will start but then the engine stops after 5 seconds or so. After maybe three attempts it ticks over as normal. Fuel pump runs when the ignition is switched on, but then stops after 10-20 seconds.
