Agood number of the kits I have are Revell/Monogram. That is all the local Hobby store (aka Michaels) carries. I think they are pretty good. For RM models, I usually find good deals on good kits. Rig the shrouds first (a good idea in any case). Thread a needle with the very finest thread you can find. Looking at my display shelves, I don’t think it’s obvious which models are built from Revell kits and which from Fujimi or Tamiya.
Thepaints themselves are good, and mix well with other enamels. As others have said they need thinning, but - WARNING - not with Revell thinners! I mixed up a wash to apply some weathering and thinned it with Revell. The wash ate into everything - previous layers of enamel, of acrylic varnish, even decals. Q8Q3v.
