I can wear earbuds now, but I definitely prolonged the healing period by a long time by wearing earbuds and over the ear headphones when my daith was only 6 months old. It took over 2 years to fully heal, and my second piercer made a point that we shouldn't wear headphones over healing piercings because the vibrations can be too much.
I have a daith and a tragus piercing on the left side. Definitely can't do earbuds with that combination, comfortably. That makes sense. I have the tragus on the same side. I'd rather err on the side of caution and just pass on it if it's highly likely I won't be able to wear earbuds. It's not that you can't wear earbuds, more like you can wear
I still think a lot about a daith though. I think it would look best in the same ear as the tragus, since I have a conch piercing in the other and sometimes wear a hoop instead of a stud in it. However, I’m a big fan of audiobooks and like the privacy of wearing earbuds without being noticeable, as opposed to the very noticeable over the ear
In most cases, a 16 gauge needle is used to pierce the Tragus piercing, which is 1.2mm thick. Tragus use has been linked to acupuncture for more than a century to help with appetite control. Some people believe that tragus piercings can alleviate anxiety and migraines. If an earring is infected, you should not remove it. Snug piercings, also called anti-helix piercings, are not for the faint of heart.Considered the most painful cartilage piercing—and to some, most painful piercing overall—the snug piercing is located at the top of the anti-tragus, and is inserted through an area called the anti-helix, which sits between the rim of your ear and the inner cartilage.

A snug piercing is also referred to as an anti-helix piercing and is considered the most painful of cartilage piercings.
